So as many of you might know already, I have decided to immerse myself into the local cocktail culture in Austin. My secret goal is to become a cocktail journalist and help to blow up the scene on a national scale. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Zach was kind enough to let me shoot this event from last Monday, and I love the results so much I wanted to share them with you.
Monday night the Austin chapter of the USBG (US Bartender’s Guild) held the Don Q Competition for local bartenders. The objective was to feature Don Q rum in an original cocktail. Five local bartenders competed, and the winner, Bill Norris from Fino, will travel to NYC to compete for a chance to go to the World Competition in Puerto Rico.
