Welcome to the not-so-different but slightly more fresh-faced version of my blog.
This project began in February of 2009, as a photo/ramblings/design/loves blog. I wanted to have tangible evidence of the fact that I do more than just sit around waiting for life to happen to me. One could argue that documenting things instead of simply experiencing them is the opposite of actively living and participating in one’s environment, but let’s leave that philosophical treatment out of the discussion for the time being. I’m not going to dip into any Sontag right now.
Everything is (mostly) untouched from it’s original state. I have to confess that it was difficult not to re-touch photos, change the order in which they appeared, or add text to archived posts. The editor in me roars with discontent at not being able to fix and improve things. But I have to remind myself that the original purpose of this digital outlet was to track growth. I use it as a platform to analyze and critique what I need to focus on to grow more as a photographer. I also use it to play around and sharpen my skills. So the past will stay intact, and the future will expand. As it always does.
I plan on incorporating new and exciting things here, different media types and hopefully more writing. For now, I hope you enjoy what you see. Let me know if you have any suggestions or thoughts. Don’t be shy to commenting.
Cheers.
